In the 2023 design refresh, we took multiple analytics into consideration - what posts worked, what content didn’t, the types of shows put on the platform, and the overall demographic engaging with our posts. As a result, we took on the designs on with a more experimental yet sensible approach, challenging what the client was already comfortable with. We wanted to hero the shows being put on the platform which happened to align well with the corresponding production teams.
This decision allowed us to be more precise with design templates, creating consistency across the entire feed whilst still remaining engaging with the now-new emphasis on typography exploration on both statics and videos. We challenged ourselves on how we can better utilize the Paramount+ blue colours. This allowed us to work with more image and type-focused designs, making the feed look curated and purposeful.
To increase engagement, there was now a big emphasis on video and motion, with the rise of Tikok and Instagram reels. The Paramount+ team was tasked with turning movies and shows into social content. This was proven to be the right move as more and more content from Paramount+au continue to become viral.
